I meet so many hairdressers who are afraid of long hair, that they book their annual leave over prom week so they don't have to face it.

When we learn cutting we divide the hair up into sections and begin - it's the same with long hair, the back, the sides, the front and the top! I haven't yet met a hairdresser who is afraid of cutting, but cutting is much more of a permanent thing.

Before I went to work on a cruise ship I hadn't ever been taught long hair. This was way before the internet and You Tube had arrived in our lives. I put myself on Patrick Cameron's long hair course and practiced everyday after. In fact long hair up is a lot easier now because the styles are more casual and messy. Back in the day it was so neat and precise. Don't be afraid, just give it a go!
