I always like to say that i am the queen of perming. I started off my apprenticeship in 1984 when EVERYONE including me had their hair permed. I spent hours passing up small pieces of paper and different size perm rods to create a different result on every head of hair.
 
There we had Partial Perms, Spiral Perms, Soft Perms, Body Perms, Piggyback Perms, Wash & Leave Afro Perms, Stack Wind Perms. The world of perms was varied and fun.

Being a Junior you'd get the blame if a clients perm dropped out... it was the neutralizing they'd say. I actually did my first perm in many years, a teenage boy a couple of months ago. As I placed the first roller it all came flooding back. Then I was asked the following, 'Do you teach a session on perming'?
